Mordechai

Details

Description

Mordechai is a myth to some, and an enigma to others. He often introduces himself as a mere student of Fel’Vizsiour, and is glad when others believe that lie. Unlike most spellcasters, fame and glory has never been of interest to him. Instead, he seeks lost knowledge and the truth of his origins. He appears to be a very fit and trim human, with elf-like facial features and personal style.

Background

Mordechai was a very prominent figure as an NPC in tabletop gaming sessions. He was often a guiding voice to the players in times of great need, and at times was the start to entire campaigns. Whenever catastrophic events were unfolding, it was usually Mordechai that would build a team to resolve the situation. Due to events that are destined to be written in a future series (which means they cannot be divulged at this time), he was an active inspiration but an adamant non-participant except in the most dire of circumstances. Bathed in the Blood of Ravens starts Mordechai down the path that eventually leads to his refusal to take direct action.

Mordechai was a player character in two campaigns. In both cases, the dungeon master had been a player in one of my campaigns and insisted I bring Mordechai into one of his as a guest appearance to help his players through a desperate situation. In one such campaign he was brought to the Abyssal plane, and in another he was transported to a magitech world. Neither adventure is canon to Mordechai, but both were fairly fun. The challenge with roleplaying Mordechai is his capabilities with magic, as they are beyond what any player character should ever be capable of under a reasonable game master.
